The principal had no real office, with the materials available he had made a working space which functions during the long dry season. Files are stored in classrooms, when it rains he also works there. To make a design for the office we talked about his daily activities, important moments and role as principal.

The office overlooks the entire school including the main entrance. All furniture is built in, there is space for guests and the backside of the office is used for storage. The ‘umbrella roof’ creates a cooler inside climate. The second roof shades the interior roof and the tilted angle creates air flow. The adjoining classroomis ‘standard’, but the design allows for defining the placement, connection and some visual continuity in details.
