Roos was invited by the Sarinha Foundation to develop initial design proposals for the Sarinha Centre, located in a village near Beira, Mozambique.
The concept includes a phased development plan, allowing the centre to grow gradually in line with available budgets. The new centre aims to empower young people aged 15 to 25 by offering opportunities for learning and working, including accommodation to support them in their daily lives.

In the next design phase, the proposal will be further refined in collaboration with all stakeholders. This will involve exploring the spatial configuration, relationships between functions, building forms, and available space. Materials and construction techniques will be co-designed and co-selected with local participants. We believe that by exchanging knowledge and leveraging local crafts, materials, and resources, we can achieve the greatest impact with the most efficient use of funds.
